Real Sociedad Hipica Espanola Club de Campo played host to the European Tour October 13-16. This is the first time the golf course has been a venue for the tour.
Many people confuse RSHECC with the old "Club de Campo" which is located in central Madrid. This is a typical report about the golf course: "Real Sociedad Hípica Española Club de Campo was built in 1901, attained Royal status in 1908 and was one of the founder members of the Spanish Golf Federation in 1932. Designed by renowned von Hagge, Smelek and Baril, the course is naturally undulating with the changes of elevation sure to challenge the field." (For the record, we are a "well established" design firm but we haven't been around for more than 100 years!!)
RSHECC is located North of the city and was developed when the land lease at the old club "CLUB DE CAMPO" expired several years ago.
